Problem with images in mixed media player

I'm trying to use the Dash Player for both videos and images in one playlist. The videos and images appear in the playlist fine, and when I select an image it is displayed in the viewer. However, if I had previously played a video in the player, that video is still "underneath" the image, and the play button for the video is still active - if I click on it, the video will play, but the title of the current item in the window is still the title of the image.

Is there a way to mix videos and images in the one player in one playlist or do I have to separate them?

Thanks!

You can mix them, but they

You can mix them, but they need to be uploaded to separate Drupal nodes if you want them displayed as separate entities in the playlist. It sounds like you are trying to upload the mix, but want them to be separate? If that is the case, then try uploading them to different nodes and see if you have better luck.

Thanks,

Travis.

Thanks for the reply. I think I need to clarify my initial question.

Here's what I'm currently doing: I have a CCK Image type, and a CCK Video type. I have separate forms for uploading video and image content, so each image and each video is saved in a separate node. These all get into the playlist fine, and I can put them into the playlist in any order. However, if a have played a video, and then select an image from the playlist, the previous video is superimposed beneath the image, and the play button for that video is still available (and is superimposed of the image). If you click on the play button, it plays the previous video. Essentially, the video control is still active and needs to be disabled somehow when an image is present.

I've attached 2 screen shots - one with a video in the player, and the other with an image selected - you'll notice that the video is still on the screen (the image is shorter in height than the display area).

Thanks!

Mixed status?

Hi,

First: great product, well done!

I like to use the osm stand alone player for photos and video's mixed in 1 xml playlist.
Two things I would like to know:

1. Click from a video to an image, keeps the sound playing in the background.
How can I turn this off? Is there a hack or so I can do to stop this?

2. Because of the photos the big PLAY button is not needed.
Is it possible to turn it off when there is no in the xml, but only a field?
Else how can I remove the play button for all media (I am using the html5).
I know the solution for the flash (editing the fla).

Or: can I add a different function to this play button and for example play and make it go fullscreen?
This would be wonderful for photos and videos in my case.

Thanks!

Gr,
Mark

If you can point me in the

If you can point me in the general direction in the class code for the conditional display of content in the player based on type, I can attempt to address this issue by clearing out (or temporarily hiding) the underlying video content and overlaid play button when an image type piece of content is active. Any guidance in that investigation will be a great help!
Thanks!

Abandoned putting images into the player

Because of our schedule for our current project, we've decided to abandon trying to get images into the Dash Player. After looking at the code more, it seems that the system really wasn't set up to display static images. It would take a major effort to include support for images, let alone not knowing exactly how they would work in a player mixed with videos - e.g. how would auto-play work?

We may pick this thread up in the future, but there is no real need for you to look into this issue further, unless you want to. Thanks again for your help.
